About Me

I am a 22 year old who is new to blogging so readers beware. I live in Minnesota for all of my life and hopefully one day change that. Other then that I am your average early 20's girl. I like to hang out with my friends, party on Friday nights and enjoying being young.

Tag Mirror

Ok I was cruising on LibraryThing.com and there is this new way of tagging my books. It is called tag mirror. Instead of just my tags showing, the whole LT community will show their tags on a book. LT already has over 27 million tags from the users on their own books. Tag mirror will depict the whole communities tags on one book. LT does provide something like this already if you click on your book's page but here you will see everyone else's tags right under your cloud tag. I have to say this sound interesting. Every time I go onto LT I find something new. Here is a blog on LT discussing tag mirrors.

After Thanksgiving

The big turkey day is over with and now onto the holiday season. All I have to say is I'm excited. Put up the Christmas tree with all the lights and ornaments, shopping in the mall for gifts, the joy of giving to others. This has to be my favorite time of year. I want to celebrate all the holidays from Christmas to kwanzaa.

Happy holidays!

Another thought.....

Has anyone ever have one of those days or weeks were everything you do is wrong? Well this last month has been that way for me. First of all, I am really bored with my work. Nothing interesting ever happens and it always seems like I am doing something wrong. Then on top of it all, a relative passes away this last Saturday and I don't even know when the funeral is. Then on top of all that, the school semester is almost over and I have 2 written reports due on the 1st and 2nd of December and a presentation. The pressure is getting to me.

I think after this year is over with, I am just going to sleep and relax. Be less stressed. Easier said then done. I just hope this Thanksgiving break will help a little bit.

John Waters

Last night John Waters did his one person show at the Fitzgerald theater in St. Paul. I would have to say it was really funny. I never laughed so hard in my life. But he get me thinking. We live in such a superficial world that is not truly representing what we mean. If you have ever seen any of John Waters films you would know that he does not follow the social norm. I like that. I may be normal in society but I am more then meets the eye. I real like movies to the point that I will watch them over and over. Further more, I like films that make me think. Take for instance, Donny Darko, to this day I still don't really know what the movie is all about. Or even films by Mr. Waters himself. Pink Flamingos! What more can I say.

So if anyone has any film recommendations that are in the weird and strange catagory, drop me a line. Please no mainstream crap!

Tag Cloud

I just read this article called "Tagging the Web" by Stephan Spencer and I have to say it was interesting.

I just learned about tagging by cataloging my book collection on librarything.com. It is really amazing how tagging works. You the user can create a tag using any word that represent an idea, thing, or person, and that tag is a visual representation of that word. On librarything.com I have just started to tag my books that I have listed but looking at others tags has give me ideas and help me broaden my own list. After tagging a book, I can go to the book's page on librarything.com and see what is the most popular tag. It also can lead me to other books that might be interesting for me to read.

I am really enjoying tagging and tag clouds. I am finding them very useful and visually stimulating.

Another gorgeous day in paradise

It's Saturday!!!!

I just cant help being happy. The work week is over with, I got all my homework done and i can relax. Except the bathroom has to be cleaned but its going to be a good weekend.

What else?
My frustration with second life. I have been trying for the last 3 days to login on to second life and it comes up with an error. I am really frustrated. I really don't want to get too involved with this life style but I am curious about it and I thought I would give it a try. I am excited to create an aviator though. It sounds interesting. I still don't know if I want to make it look like me or like someone else. That really is the beauty of second life, you can be who ever you want to be.

Well I will give it one more try and if it doesn't work....it must be my computer.

Farewell and goodnight.

today in particular

For some reason I am having a hard time blogging. I just don't feel like expressing anything. Well maybe I will talk about my day.

First of all, I woke up late and got to work an hour later then I was suppose to which is fine, I just took a shorter lunch break and will leave half an hour later then I normally do.

Work for some reason is going by really slow. I just don't want to work. The repetitiveness is getting to me. I need to break out of the grove.

What else? Well I am really tired that explains the tartness this morning. I stayed up way to late last night but I just wanted to put up some bookcases that I bought from Ikea. Which by the way look wonderful and I can't wait to finish my living room (it needs help). Plus this last weekend I didn't get any sleep.

After work today I need to stop back at Ikea to pick up some additional shelves. 5 is not going to cut it. I need 7 to 8 shelves. I have way to many DVD's and Books for only 5 shelves. I just can't help myself. I see a movie or a book that looks interesting, I buy it. Hence the bookcases. What I have in my apartment is just the tip of the iceberg for me. I have more at my parents.

Wow I just finished a blog for the day. So that is all folks.
